‘Last of Us’ Season 2 adds young Mazino from ‘Beef’ to cast as Jesse – Times of India



Young Mazino has been cast in the upcoming second season of the popular HBO series “The Last of Us.” Mazino will play the character Jesse, described as a selfless individual who prioritizes the needs of others over his own, even at great personal cost. The show’s co-creators, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, expressed their excitement about Mazino’s talent and are eager for audiences to witness his performance.

Mazino is known for his role in the critically acclaimed Netflix series “Beef,” where he portrayed Paul, the younger brother of Steven Yeun‘s character. His work in “Beef” earned him an Emmy nomination for best supporting actor in a limited or anthology series or movie. Mazino has also appeared in shows like “Blue Bloods,” “Prodigal Son,” and “New Amsterdam.”
“The Last of Us” is based on the popular video game of the same name, created by Druckmann and developed by Naughty Dog. The series follows the story of Joel (played by Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (played by Bella Ramsey) in a post-apocalyptic world. The first season of the show received critical acclaim and multiple award nominations, including three Golden Globe nominations and 25 Emmy nominations.

The series is a co-production between HBO and Sony Pictures Television, with Mazin and Druckmann serving as writers and executive producers. The show has already won eight Emmys at the Creative Arts Emmys, including awards for Nick Offerman and Storm Reid in the guest actor and actress categories.
