Prabhas and Prashanth Neel’s Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire is running at the cinemas, and is breaking records one after another. In just 20 days, it has managed to beat the Hindi collections of Prabhas’ past films like Baahubali: The Beginning and Saaho. And now, Salaar has gone on to become Prabhas’ second biggest Hindi release ever beating Adipurush.
Prabhas’ Adipursh was directed by Om Raut, and had him play the role of Raghav which was inspired by Lord Ram, and the film revolves around his battle with Lankesh, played by Saif Ali Khan. Adipursh from its first screening had run into controversy over its dialogues and imagery, but it managed to pull in the audience and raked in the box office collection of Rs 147.92 crore in Hindi, and became one of the biggest hits of 2023 with an overall collection of Rs 288 crore. But Salaar has managed to break the record set by Adipursh by minting Rs 148.25 crore in just its 3rd week while Adipursh was in the theaters for 6 weeks.
Prashanth Neel’s Salaar is expected to cross the Rs 400 crore mark on Thursday itself, and the journey for Salaar is not complete yet, as the biggest release of the month, Fighter, is releasing only on 25th January.
Besides Prabhas, Salaar also stars Prithviraj, Sriya Reddy, Shruti Haasan and Jagapathi Babu.
