Sidharth Malhotra was recently in Delhi to promote his upcoming series ‘Indian Police Force’ and interacted with Delhi Police personnel and their families at the National Police Memorial.
Reflecting on his upbringing in Delhi, Sidharth recalled, ‘Main hamare Dilli Police se school aur college mein milta tha, lekin jab aap college mein hote ho tab aap kaafi unaware hote ho. As a citizen, we always want your officers and government to provide you better service. After reaching a certain point in life and gaining awareness about various things, I now think the police service is one of the toughest jobs in the country.
Because you police officers are constantly dealing with citizens and interacting with all age groups in all colonies and areas, I think you are brilliant. I also believe you are brilliant because people may think our job is difficult in addressing everyone, but all you police officers speak to the public patiently, controlling your own emotions. As an actor, I feel extremely honoured that I got to wear the uniform on the big screen. Like Rohit Shetty says, ‘We are the reel heroes; you (police officers) are the real heroes.”
