During a discussion with journalist Faye D’Souza on Tweak India, Twinkle highlighted the irony in advocating for equality in marriage while acknowledging that domestic tasks often fall on women.

Twinkle humorously remarked, “We’re women who think that we are fairly progressive, and yet, this food, the house, the curtains, the diapers – it’s still our job, along with having a full-time job. “
She further questioned, “What have we done to ourselves? Feminism has come and bitten us in the a**. I was this big flag bearer of equality. But equality has meant double the work. It’s not okay. So I’m equal; you will treat me with respect, but I’m doing double of everything. It’s tough either way.”
Addressing the challenges faced by working women, Twinkle acknowledged the independence that comes with a career but highlighted the constant struggle to balance professional and personal life.
She shared a relatable experience about her daughter Nitara instinctively turning away when she sees Twinkle working on her computer, highlighting the dual responsibilities faced by working mothers.
Twinkle humorously concluded, “They’re going to wind up in therapy regardless and blame us. So, I’m not worried about that.”
On the other hand, Twinkle’s husband, actor Akshay Kumar is set for his most awaited action flick ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ which is releasing on July 12.
