crew member falls to his death on sets of marvel’s ‘wonder man’ | – Times of India

A crew member of Marvel Studios television series “Wonder Man“, passed away on Tuesday, after falling from the rafters at Radford Studio Center just outside of Los Angeles.
According to Deadline, the man, identified by the Los Angeles Police Department as Juan Carlos Osorio, was working as a rigger when he fell from a catwalk. He died at the scene.
Although Osorio was working on the Wonder Man show, the series was not filming at the time of the accident.
Shortly after news broke about the tragic accident on the film sets, a Marvel spokesperson confirmed the reports in a statement and offered their condolences to Osorio’s grieving family.
“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family and friends, and our support is behind the investigation into the circumstances of this accident,” the spokesperson said.
“Wonder Man” is an upcoming Disney+ series that stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, a stunt man turned superhero. The series is also set to star Lauren Glazier and Ben Kingsley for secret roles in the project.
Kingsley previously starred in Marvel’s ‘Iron Man 3’ and ‘Shang-Chi’.
The series has yet to get a release date.
Deaths on movie and TV sets are rare. One of the most high-profile instances occurred in October 2021 when cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was shot by a gun held by actor Alec Baldwin during a rehearsal.
Baldwin has pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter.
