According to reports on ET, Swift’s lawyers are considering suing Sweeney for paying no heed to their warnings and requests to stop sharing the flight logs, over concerns about her safety and past brushes with stalkers. In a legal letter obtained by The Washington Post, Swift’s attorneys expressed their concerns about the safety implications of Sweeney’s actions. They argued that broadcasting the Pop star’s flight information poses a significant risk to her safety.
Swift’s team even sent Sweeney a cease-and-desist letter in December, warning of legal action if he continued sharing her flight information. In response, he alleged that Swift’s objections stem from criticism of her use of a private jet and its environmental impact.
While he has asserted that he is within his rights to share the details online, he reportedly now withholds the flight paths for 24 hours and refrains from disclosing the identities of individuals on board.
However, Swift’s legal team is reportedly sticking to their resolve to handle the matter the legal route for the potential danger Sweeney’s actions pose, particularly in regard to the singer’s history of dealing with stalkers.
Back in 2022, Sweeney found himself in hot water when he was banned from a social media platform X, by Elon Musk after allegedly sharing what the billionaire’s representatives referred to as “assassination coordinates.”
On Tuesday, Musk weighed in on the potential legal battle and expressed his support for the singer. “Sweeney is an awful human being. Taylor Swift is right to be concerned,” wrote Musk.
