Actress Lee Sung Kyung reveals hectic filming schedule for ‘Dr. Romantic 3’: I had no life of my own | – Times of India

In a candid conversation with BTS’ Suga on the popular YouTube program Suchwita, actress Lee Sung Kyung provided a glimpse into the demanding world of filming her latest project, ‘Dr. Romantic 3.’ Renowned for her portrayal of Doctor Cha Eun Jae, a role she reprised from the drama’s second season, Lee Sung Kyung unveiled the arduous journey behind bringing her character to life once again.
Opening up about the grueling filming schedule, Lee Sung Kyung revealed that the process stretched across an entire year, leaving her feeling disoriented when it finally concluded. “It feels awkward to rest because I have no life of my own [when filming dramas]. I don’t exist”, she confessed, highlighting the all-consuming nature of her commitment to the role.
Describing a typical day on set, Lee Sung Kyung shared the relentless pace at which filming proceeded, with minimal breaks amidst marathon 15-hour days. “This is how my day usually went when I was filming Dr. Romantic. Except for an hour for lunch and dinner I filmed from nine o’clock to midnight”, she recounted, painting a vivid picture of the relentless grind. Even during brief respites, such as meal breaks, the actress found herself racing against the clock, with just enough time to freshen up and catch a few hours of sleep before the cycle began anew. “If it ends at twelve, it’s one or two by the time I get home. I shower and go to bed then I have to get back up at six in the morning. That’s how I spent my days”, she revealed, highlighting the toll such an intense schedule took on her personal life.
Yet, perhaps most striking was Lee Sung Kyung’s revelation about the scarcity of time, even for basic necessities like bathroom breaks. “When they’re changing the set I tell them I’m going to the restroom and run to use the restroom since we don’t have to change”, she admitted.
Despite the challenges, Lee Sung Kyung expressed gratitude for the cohesion among the cast and crew, particularly during the filming of intricate operation scenes. “They edit the operating scenes to make them look like different scenes. But for us, we film all the scenes at once”, she disclosed, shedding light on the collaborative effort that went into creating these demanding moments.
