Shahid Kapoor recently completed more than 20 years in the business, having started with Ishq Vishk in 2003. In these years, the actor has delivered numerous hits like Vivah, Jab We Met, Kaminey, R… Rajkumar, Kabir Singh and many more. The one thing about the actor that stands out, is how his choices have always been dependent on what the market forces are telling him to. Take for example his OTT debut film Bloody Daddy, he plays a grey character who gets involved into chaos because of his greed, and has to take on many people to save his son and even after saving his son, he doesn’t let go of his greed. Even with the show Farzi, which is one of the most viewed show on OTT, his bears grey shades which might turn dark in the second season.

In an exclusive interview with ETimes, the actor shared his philosophy behind his choices. He said, “I have a bit of a wolf mentality which is the opposite of sheep mentality. If everybody is heading left – the first guy went left, looking at the first guy, the second guy also went left and then everyone went left …in that case I will definitely not go left . Sometimes I need to be ok with it …like everyone’s doing it … to main bhi kar leta hu, but my natural reaction is no!… I’ll do it my way …that is my nature.”
“I have this concept of not wanting to do what everyone else is doing or following the flavor of the season. It doesn’t appeal to me, it is not exciting, but boring. I believe in doing my own thing, you might go wrong but you will learn and grow and eventually when you get it right, you will stand out, ” he added.
