Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon starrer ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ sells 31,000 tickets in advance bookings in the top 3 national chains | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon starrer ‘Teri Baaton Main Aisa Uljha Jiya‘ has released today and the film has been having some good buzz with the songs getting popular. The advance bookings and ticket sales did show momentum after a dull start. By the end of its advance booking, it looks like the movie will have an average single digit number opening.
According to Pinkvilla, the total number of tickets sold in the advance bookings in the top three chains include 31,000. PVRINOX has sold around 24000 tickets while Cinepolis has sold around 7000 tickets. But these advances will contribute only 2/3rd to the total Day 1 opening numbers of the movie. Though, this jump is commendable as earlier, it was not expected that the film would sell 31,000 tickets in the advance bookings.
With that, many tickets are expected to be sold in the current bookings, just as the day passes and reviews start pouring in. The trade expects the Shahid-Kriti starrer to have an opening of around Rs 6 to 7 crore. But the numbers are expected to increase over the weekend if there is positive word of mouth. Also, the film can slowly gain momentum towards Valentine‘s day.
Though, these opening numbers are not very impressive, in the post pandemic era, even a decent opening for romcoms is considered a great push for coming days. TBAUJ is releasing at the perfect time around Valentine’s day and at the moment, there’s no other big movie which will give competition to the film. ‘Fighter’ is having a decent run in theatres and as their strategy to compete with a romcom, the makers have decided to add the romantic song ‘Bekaar Dil’ to the film from Friday onwards. Earlier the CBFC had cut the song from the film before it released but now apparently, the makers have made some edits to the song and added to the film.
So, time will tell and we shall have to wait till tomorrow to see if the Shahid, Kriti film picks up and gives competition to ‘Fighther’.
