Fighter earns its lowest collection on third Friday; mints only Rs 1.75 crore | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter witnessed a decline in its box office earnings as it entered its second week. Initially, the actioner showed promise with a strong growth in the second weekend but as weekdays started, Fighter went into a downward spiral.
Fighter, in its second weekend, had collected about Rs 28.75 crore over three days, while over the next four days it added another Rs 12.25 crore, taking the second week total to Rs 41 crore.
As the film was entering its third week, it faced competition for the first time from Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s latest film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. And the film collected only Rs 1.75 crore as per industry tracker Sacnilk, making it the lowest ever one day collection for Fighter. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 189.25 crore. One can only hope that just like the second weekend, the film shows a major jump in its third weekend as the new release has also started on a slow note.
Decoding the dry run of the film, Trade Analyst Atul Mohan shared that Fighter didn’t have much for the audience, he had told ETimes, “The audience rejected the film, if you compare with the collections of last year’s films, Fighter’s collection wasn’t that huge. Also the pre- release buzz for the film was also cold.A majority of the audience felt that it was a routine kind of film where there will be Pakistan bashing…the audience didn’t feel that there was any WOW ! factor in the film for which they should go and see the film in the theaters.”
