Director SS Rajamouli is busy at work on his next big film, tentatively titled ‘SSMB29‘, starring Mahesh Babu in the lead. Much has been said and written about the film penned by Rajamouli’s father, Vijayendra Prasad, but plot details and casting updates have been shrouded in speculation. Recent rumours doing the rounds online suggest that the director may have found his actress in American-born Indonesian actor Chelsea Islan.
While reports in January hinted at Chelsea’s potential involvement in the upcoming project, neither the filmmakers nor the actress have confirmed or denied the claims. Buzz around her possible casting hit a new high when the actress began following Rajamouli on social media. Alert fans seemed to have spotted the new update on the director’s handle and, creating a wave of excitement as many interpreted Chelsea’s social media activity as a potential indicator of her involvement in ‘SSMB29’.

Discussing ‘SSMB29’ at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2022, Rajamouli teased that the film would be a globe-trotting action adventure with elements reminiscent of classic Hollywood blockbusters like James Bond and Indiana Jones, infused with distinct Indian flavours. With pre-production underway, the film is slated to commence filming by April or May.
