
Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon‘s “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” was the third major release of the year, following Katrina Kaif’s “Merry Christmas” and Hrithik Roshan’s “Fighter.” Coming after the success of “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” last year, it marked the first love story of the year on the big screen. The film was highly anticipated, boasting fabulous music and dance sequences, strong chemistry between the actors, and a compelling love story.
While the film managed to collect Rs 44.35 crore in the first week, in its second week, “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” earned Rs 21.65 crore, taking its two week total to Rs 66 crore. The film was expected to cross Rs 70 crore by the end of its third weekend, but it managed to achieve the feat on Saturday itself.
As per Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 2.5 crore on Friday and Rs 2.35 crore on Saturday thus taking the total collection of the film to Rs 70.85 crore. Interestingly, “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” has become the third biggest hit of Shahid’s career, replacing Prabhudeva’s R…Rajkumar which minted Rs 66 crore back in 2013. The two biggest hits of Shahid’s career till now have been Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Kabir Singh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat.
The film is currently facing major competition from Yami Gautam starrer “Article 370”, which is currently enjoying a strong momentum at the box office and has minted around Rs 13 crore in two days of its release.
