ETimes got in touch with Hariharan, who has been a colleague and a friend to Pankaj Udhas for years now. Reacting to the news of his demise, Hariharan said, “It is indeed a very sad day and a rude shock for all of us.I am thinking of his wife and his family. God gives him the strength to go through it, to face such a devastating time.”
Elaborating further, he added, “Pankaj has done so much work in his field and he was at an age where he could sit back and just enjoy the fruits of his work. We have been colleagues and friends for more than four decades. We have known each other for 40-45 years now and have been in the same field. We have had a lot of fun together, have done a lot of concerts together, right from Shamakhana when we just started out to the Khazanas which he has been devotedly doing every year.”

“I remember him as a very soft-spoken person. I mean that’s how the image I have of Pankaj. He is a very sweet person, very courteous, a gentleman, soft-spoken, the way he used to sing, the same kind of a tone, great sense of humour and loved partying. God bless you my brother, God bless your soul!”, he concluded.
His daughter Nayaab Udhas took to Instagram to share the news, she wrote , ” With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform of the sad demise of Padmashri Pankaj Udhas on 26th February 2024 due to prolonged illness.”
Pankaj Udhas was known for his contributions to Hindi cinema and Indian pop music.
