Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is well into its third week, and it seems that by the end of next week, the film will be completing its theatrical run. The total collection of the film currently stands at Rs 74.35 after spending 18 days at the box office, and for the first time its collection has dropped below Rs 1 crore. The impossible love story between a man and a robot on Monday collected just Rs 90 lakh…it’s lowest ever collection since its release during the Valentine Day’s weekend.

Going by its Sunday collection, the film has seen a near 65% drop in its collection, and from this point on, it looks very difficult for the film to rise. Post the success of last year’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Shahid and Kriti starrer film was the first love story to make its way to the big screen. The film carried a lot of expectations as it had a lot of things going for it, right from the fabulous music and dance videos, to chemistry between the actors and a ‘big idea’ for a love story. But the film was not able to connect with the masses especially in the interiors of the country.
While the film managed to collect Rs 44.35 crore in the first week, in its second week, the film earned Rs 21.65 crore, taking its two week total to Rs 66 crore. The film was expected to cross Rs 70 crore by the end of its third weekend, but it managed to achieve the feat on Saturday itself, and on Sunday it collected another Rs 2.65 crore, but on Monday it dropped to just Rs 90 lakhs.
The film has gone on to become one of the biggest successes of Dinesh Vijan’s production house after names like Stree, Bhediya, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and Luka Chuppi. The film is currently facing major competition from Yami Gautam starrer “Article 370”, which is currently enjoying a strong momentum at the box office and has minted around Rs 26.15 crore in 4 days.
