Hunter Schafer Arrested in Pro-Palestine Protest; Outraged Fans Demand ‘Free Her’ | – Times of India



Hunter Schafer, the star of ‘Hunger Games and the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’, was arrested by police for participating in a protest during the taping of US President Joe Biden‘s appearance on the ‘Late Night’ show.
According to reports on the New York Post, Schafer was among 33 protesters who were taken into custody during the demonstration, which called for a ceasefire in the Israel-Palestine conflict.She was reportedly issued a summons for ‘trespassing’ onto the studio property.

Schafer, who is also known for her role as the character Jules in ‘Euphoria’, was photographed wearing a “Cease-fire now” t-shirt while being escorted out of 30 Rock by a New York City Police Department officer. The photo has since gone viral with outraged fans demanding her release.

The protest, organized by the group “Jewish Voice for Peace”, saw Schafer and other demonstrators seated in the lobby of 30 Rock, holding banners with messages urging an end to violence and advocating for peace. The banners displayed during the protest included phrases such as “Jews to Biden: Stop arming genocide” and “Lasting cease-fire.” The group was also chanting slogans like “No more weapons, no more war” and “Cease-fire is what we’re fighting for.”

Schafer has also been lending her star power to the cause of trans rights in the US. She has been using her platforms to advocate for social and political change.

Early this week, the protestors got the attention of Hollywood bigwigs when they began broadcasting cease-fire slogans on loudspeakers outside the Spirit Awards. Videos from the event saw the loud chants interrupting presenters on stage and even the winners’ speeches.
