‘Ikkis,’ director Sriram Raghavan disclosed that initially, Varun Dhawan was considered for the role, but after the pandemic, they concluded he wouldn’t fit the character. Raghavan elaborated on the film, centered around the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal PVC, stating it’s a grander production involving tank battles and other elements typical of a war movie. However, he emphasized that at its core, it’s a human story—a blend of drama and a coming-of-age narrative.

Sriram Raghavan further clarified that ‘Ikkis’ will not offer a fictionalized account of Arun Khetarpal’s life. He stressed that the film will avoid a simplistic or overly heroic portrayal reminiscent of children’s comics. Additionally, the storyline will not dwell on Khetarpal’s childhood. Instead, ‘Ikkis’ will focus on the young officer’s journey, culminating in his ultimate sacrifice shortly after turning 21. The narrative explores the poignant transition from youth to adulthood, with a compelling event unfolding three decades later.

The film is poised to be a grand production, delving into the coming-of-age tale of Arun Khetarpal, who holds the distinction of being the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra.
Agastya’s film ‘The Archies’ premiered on an OTT platform last month. The movie also featured Suhana Khan, daughter of Shah Rukh Khan, and Khushi Kapoor, daughter of Boney Kapoor, in prominent roles.
