Sobhita Dhulipala and Kareena Kapoor Khan recently talked about the importance of mental health and how they manage their social media handles. Both actresses shed light on the theater versus OTT debate.
In a recent summit conducted by ABP News, Kareena mentioned that if someone does not have proper mental peace, then everything else is a waste. ‘That is the key thing for me,’ Kareena said, ‘and self-preservation is crucial for happiness. I love and enjoy this constant battle.’
In the same event, Sobhita talked about ‘The Evolution of a Self-Made Actor.’ She revealed that compliments never caused any stress for her. She feels great and encouraged whenever someone walks up and says good things in the world of criticism.
While addressing how social media is helping and burdening them these days, Kareena assured that she never gets affected or consumed by it. ‘You are being scrutinized with a magnifying glass these days. Everybody has an opinion, and everybody is writing a review. The idea is that I know how to channelize my life and know when to pull back on social media,’ the actress mentioned.
At the same time, Sobhita shared about seeking validity from people as an actor, saying that it is impossible to receive such acknowledgment when someone keeps seeking validation despite getting the work and honor. ‘I can’t wait for people’s validation. I tell my cousins not to use social media. It is not a helpful tool. I tell them to invest in relationships,’ Sobhita emphasized.
Furthermore, Kareena analyzed how Indian cinema is balancing between OTT and theaters. She pointed out the COVID-19 pandemic as the major reason for such a change, ‘For the past two years, people have been watching a lot of digital content. It’s made us used to consuming different types of stuff. Maybe now people think differently about what they watch. But deep down, the best feeling is going to the movies with family. And that feeling is coming back as movies like ‘Jawaan’ and ‘Pathaan’ are doing well in theaters. People miss the joy of watching movies together. Even smaller movies are making a lot of money, like 80-90 crores.’ But Sobhita believes that there is not much difference because the work of actors remains the same.
On the work front, Sobhita will make her Hollywood debut in ‘The Monkey Man,’ and Kareena will be seen in ‘The Crew’ with Tabu and Kriti Sanon.
