The prayer meeting for the late music maestro Pankaj Udhas took place in Mumbai on March 2. Pankaj Udhas, who passed away on February 26 at the age of 72 after a prolonged illness, left an indelible mark on the industry with his soulful ghazals.
The touching prayer meeting saw the presence of family, friends, and prominent personalities. In a heartwarming moment captured on video, Pankaj Udhas’ daughter, Naayab Udhas, and others sat in solemn reflection, while a prominent image of the late maestro adorned the backdrop, capturing the essence of the gathering.They were seen greeting every visitor as they arrived for the meeting.
Popular singers Madhushree and Abhijeet Bhattacharya are seen praying respects to the Ghazal maestro. Several other celebs who graced the meeting are Anuradha Paudwal, Sonu Nigam, Nitin Mukesh, Jackie Shroff, Mahalakshmi Iyer and others.
Meanwhile, Pankaj Udhas, a recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri award, had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital due to his prolonged illness. His passing marked the end of an era in the world of ghazals, leaving behind a legacy of timeless musical contributions.
The funeral on February 27, held with state honors by the Mumbai Police, witnessed a notable turnout of celebs such as Vidya Balan, Zakir Hussain, Shankar Mahadevan, and Sunil Gavaskar. These influential figures from various industries paid their last respects, reflecting the profound impact Pankaj Udhas had on the hearts and minds of people.
