‘HanuMan’ concludes its box office journey in North America with $ 5.31 million | Hindi Movie News – Times of India



Prasanth Varma and Tejja Sajja‘s collaboration for the contemporary retelling of Lord Hanuman‘s epic story in ‘HanuMan’ has had a great run at the box office, not only in India but also in North America. The film went on to mint Rs 200 crore in India, of which Rs 144 crore was contributed by the Telugu version while the Hindi version earned Rs 52 crore and the remaining came from Kannada, Malayalam and Tamil releases.
Coming to North America (USA + Canada market), the film has emerged as one of the biggest Telugu hits. ‘HanuMan’ released on January 12 and in its near 2 month long run, the film has gone on to mint US $ 5.31 million at the box office. In its long run, the film not only survived a clash with Mahesh Babu’s ‘Guntur Kaaram’, but also a Hindi film like Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Fighter’. Having ended its run at the North American box office, ‘HanuMan’ is now gearing up for its OTT release across the globe.
Post the success of ‘HanuMan’, there is massive buzz about the film’s sequel, which has been titled ‘Jai Hanuman‘. Director Prasanth Varma had announced the film on the day of Lord Ram Temple’s Pran Prathistha in Ayodhya. He also announced that the pre-production of the film has also begun.
