Mithun Chakraborty is still known as the OG Disco Dancer and remembered for variety of roles. However, his son Mimoh Chakraborty unfortunately failed to make a similar mark. Recently, Mithun’s second son Namashi also made his debut with Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Bad Boy’ and a recent interview Namashi has made a shocking statement.
Namashi said that his brother had the potential to be a superstar, if only he got more chances. The actor said in a chat with Lehren Retro, “He was born to a superstar. He has the potential to be a superstar but the industry is too busy favouring other star kids. If my brother, I can say this on the record, got as many chances as Abhishek (Bachchan) sir, my brother would be a superstar today. I can say this with confidence.”
Mimoh made his debut with ‘Jimmy’ in 2008 and Namashi says that the failure of this film still haunts his brother. “Unfortunately, people look at Jimmy as a bigger flop than perhaps a big production film. If he got as many chances as Abhishek bhaiya, he would rock it.”
Though, in an old interview, Mimoh had admitted that Abhishek was a major source of inspiration for him when he was going through a tough time. Mimoh had revealed the advice given to him by Abhishek and he even called him his hero. “In these tough times I always looked up to Abhishek Bachchan for inspiration. He’s the son of the ‘God’ of the industry and has to constantly live with comparisons. He told me that people are always gonna put you down, but you gotta get up and fight! So, Abhishek’s my hero,” said Mimoh.
Mimoh didn’t do many movies post ‘Jimmy’, ‘Haunted 3D’ and ‘Loot’. He was last seen in Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s ‘Jogira Sa Ra Ra’.
