‘Vikrant Rona’ star Kiccha Sudeep feels the remakes have lost their market owing to pan-India films – Times of India

Kiccha Sudeep, who is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming film, ‘Vikrant Rona’, spoke about how the cinema has opened gates for all, regardless of the language.

Talking about the trends of remakes, the actor revealed that they have lost their market as now films are being made and released in different languages. “I think it’s all stopped… now too many remakes are not happening. When one film is coming in one language, it’s going in every language. 6-7 years ago, there were rooms for remakes and with OTT coming in, some apps will carry your film. Though there are people still doing remakes, I personally feel it has kind of lost its market,” Sudeep told Zoom Digital.

Further talking about South films achieving success pan-India, he added, “There are just films happening now. If it has good content and good marketing, it is going to travel. It is not just content now but content and promotions need to go hand in glove. Your reach and penetration have to be like that.”

As far as ‘Vikrant Rona’ is concerned, the film has reportedly been in the making for four years. Spilling some beans on the same, Sudeep said, “I have not made a film of this sort or this genre or this scale… A movie of this era, a character of this sort is not something I have done. And we all conceived it in a way we wanted to and that has excited us.”

The film is slated to hit the theatres on July 28, 2022.
