Sharad Kelkar: Ajay Devgn is the best and he has always been an inspiration – Times of India


Sharad Kelkar who played the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ is on cloud nine after the Om Raut film’s big win at the 68
th National Film Awards. While Ajay Devgn won the award for Best Actor, the period film also won the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and Best Costume awards.

Speaking to a media outlet recently Sharad shared his excitement as he called the win a big honour for the entire team. He also hailed director Om Rout for delivering such an important film so nicely. He added that the kind of planning Om did and the vision he had while shooting for the film were one of its kind which the Hindi film industry didn’t see previously. The seasoned actor feels that Om is a visionary and his sense of filmmaking and scripts is outstanding. Sharad also insists that he’s keen to work with Om Raut again.

Sharad heaped praise on Ajay Devgn as well after the actor won his third National Award. According to him, Ajay is the coolest person he has worked with and has always been an inspiration. The two actors have previously worked together in three films. He further claims Ajay Devgn’s down-to-earth nature and raw approach towards his craft is a lesson for all. Sharad believes that the celebrated actor is one of the best Bollywood has and his sense of films and great knowledge about every aspect of filmmaking helps the unit in many ways.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Sharad is gearing up for his upcoming Marathi film ‘Rainbow’ directed by Kranti Redkar with Sonalee Kulkarni, Urmila Kothare, and Rishi Saxena.
