Geeta Basra makes a sensational comeback after 6 years; Signs up with ‘Shershaah’ producer Shabbir Boxwala – Times of India

Geeta Basra, who was last seen in ‘Lock’ in 2016, is tying up her laces again. She is raring to go; her second child Jovan is one-year old. ETimes has it herewith that Geeta has signed a film to be produced by Shabbir Boxwala who last produced the Sidharth Malhotra-Kiara Advani starrer ‘Shershaah’ with Karan Johar. A source told us that Geeta has signed on the dotted line.

Geeta will play the lead role opposite Parambrata Chatterjee (of ‘Kahaani’ fame) in a film called ‘Notary’, to be directed by Pavan Wadeyar. The film will be shot in a single 45-day schedule in Bhopal. Shooting starts on October 5.

Confirming the same, when contacted, Geeta said, “I am in a very happy space. Shabbir called up and offered me a role that I liked very much. I am delighted to be making a comeback with a role that provides me with a gamut of emotions.”

Elaborating further, Geeta said, “The film is a satire.” And what is her role precisely, we asked. “Well, it has a definite graph. I am playing a college girl who goes on to become a wife. It’s a very challenging role. I couldn’t have asked for more.”

And who will manage the kids (Hinaya and Jovan) while Geeta is in Bhopal for one-and-half months? Pat came the reply, “My mom and Jovan will be with me in Bhopal, while my husband (Harbhajan Singh) will look after Hinaya in Mumbai. Hinaya and Bhajji (as he’s fondly called) can always fly over to Bhopal for a few days to be with us.”

Meanwhile, Shabbir Boxwala said, “This is true. The full cast and crew will be announced shortly.”

Pavan Wadeyar gave the South star Yash (who starred in KGF 2) his first hit, ‘Googly’. Pavan’s film ‘Dollu’ won 68th National Film Awards 2022 in Best Feature Film in Kannada.
