Jubin Nautiyal claims #ArrestJubinNautiyal trend was picked from a paid Twitter thread – Times of India

Jubin Nautiyal recently courted controversy after netizens claimed that the singer had an alleged connection with a criminal. Reports suggested that Jai Singh, the organiser of Jubin’s US concert, was a ‘wanted criminal’ in drugs smuggling and video piracy cases. It was also alleged that Jai is a part of the banned Khalistan group in Punjab and provided logistical support to Khalistanis hailing from the Fermont gurudwara in California.

Soon, netizens started trending #ArrestJubinNautiyal on Twitter, trolling the actor for his alleged association with a criminal. Reacting to the social media hate, Jubin told a news portal that he doesn’t know Jai Singh and that he had cancelled his concert in Houston back in August. “The contract was between my management and a promoter named Herijinder Singh. I don’t know how it got to this point. My mother is in depression. I have nothing more to say. I’ve said it all. The news was picked up from a paid Twitter thread. No one bothered to ask me once. Anti-national? Me?” Jubin was quoted by India Today. Previously, the singer had tweeted, “Jubin took to Twitter to clarify his side. “Hello friends and twitter family, I’ve been travelling and will be shooting for the next whole month. Don’t get upset on rumours. I love my country. I love you all.”

Later on, one of the organisers of Jubin’s US tour had revealed on social media that the concert was cancelled long back.
