Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra’s ‘Thank God’ gets banned in Kuwait: Report – Times of India


Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh starrer ‘Thank God’ has been making headlines almost every day for all wrong reasons. The trailer was launched recently and it didn’t go down well with the netizens. People have been demanding a ban on it. It has been facing some legal issues for its portrayal of Chitragupt played by Ajay. The latest report suggests that the film got banned in Kuwait.

According to a leading entertainment portal, the film was not passed by the Censor Board as they have decided to stop the release of the film in Kuwait. On the other hand, the Kuwait Censor Board has passed Sunny Deol and Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘Chup’, and Rashmika Mandanna and Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Goodbye’.

Earlier, it was reported that a fringe group from Karnataka has called for a ban on the film for mocking religious sentiments. Reacting to the trailer, Hindu Janajagruti Samithi spokesperson Mohan Gowda said that they will never tolerate the mockery of Chitragupta and Lord Yama of Hinduism, which is seen in the movie. They have also demanded that the Censor Board should not give a certificate to the film and that ‘Thank God’ should be banned for hurting religious sentiments.

Meanwhile, the makers unveiled the new song on Friday titled ‘Manike’ starring Nora Fatehi and Sidharth. The duo looks mesmerising in the song and fans have been showering love on them. The film is slated to release on October 24.
