Recently, Raj had filed an application seeking discharge from the case. He had reportedly stated that the chargesheet didn’t have any material against him. However, ETimes has learnt that the prosecution has opposed the discharge application. Reacting to the reply filed by the prosecution, Kundra’s lawyer Prashant Patil had told ETimes, “We are ready to argue the case on merit, though there is a Prima Facie case that has been made out. We have full faith in the judiciary and the truth shall come out.” Patil maintained that despite the Prima Facie case, there is no evidence against Kundra and that they will argue this case in court based on solid facts.
Previously, Raj Kundra had said in a statement that this controversy was witch hunt against him. He had said, “After much contemplation, considering there are many misleading and irresponsible statements and articles floating around and my silence has been misconstrued for weakness. I would like to start by stating that I have NEVER been involved in the production and distribution of ‘pornography’ EVER in my life. This whole episode has been nothing but a witch hunt. The matter is sub judice so I cannot elucidate, but I am ready to face trial and have full faith in the judiciary, where the truth will prevail.”
