Bombay HC passes an order saying Jiah Khan’s mother Rabia trying to delay the trial; Sooraj Pancholi says, ‘these false accusations, deeply affected me as a person’ – Times of India

The Bombay High Court has passed an order stating that late actor Jiah Khan‘s mother Rabia Khan misused the judicial machinery to delay the trial even after the CBI carried out a fair, impartial and thorough probe into the suicide of her daughter. However, Rabia Khan insists that her daughter’s death was not a suicide, it was murder.

Talking about the court order, Sooraj Pancholi said, “I have been battling this case and these false accusations against me for the past 10 years now, and it has deeply affected me as a person, only I know what I have been going through all these years. I have immense respect and I have always maintained my dignity toward Jiah’s family. I plead that her family and I both have a fair trial and I pray that this comes to an end soon.”

The case has been probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the agency has charged Sooraj Pancholi, Jiah’s boyfriend, for abetting her suicide on June 3, 2013. The bench in its order noted that a detailed investigation was carried out by the central agency from all possible angles and it concluded that it was a case of suicide.
