The 1981 Yash Chopra film ‘Silsila’ saw Amitabh Bachchan in a completely different light. While his heroic dialogues and beating the villain induced ‘seetis’ and ‘taalis’, his romantic side as he recited the most beautiful ‘shayaris’ in his signature baritone, left women in awe. While those beautiful ‘shayaris’ did weave magic, it was also his silence and eyes that did most of the talking in ‘Silsila’ and many of his other films. Seeing his softer, vulnerable, romantic side in the film on a canvas painted by Yash Chopra wasn’t something to miss.
Apart from these, there are also many other films like ‘Kabhi Kabhie (1978), and Anand (1971) which saw the actor essay completely different characters that displayed his vulnerable side.
