Varun Dhawan: We are trying to create a unvierse with Bhediya – Times of India

Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon enjoyed every bit of the experience as they arrived to launch the brand new track of their upcoming film Bhediya at a single screen in Mumbai, today. The theatre based in Bandra was buzzing with their fans. A nostalgic Varun said, “I have a lot of memories associated with the theatre.” The actor along with Kriti and choreographer Ganesh Acharya danced on the tunes of Thumkeshwari, which also features Shraddha Kapoor in a cameo. The latter is seen as Stree in the song of the film, which is directed by Stree’s director Amar Kaushik.
As he teamed up with his ABCD 2 co-star, Shraddha for the film, Varun said, “I am not with Shraddha on screen but with Stree (her film). We are trying to create a unvierse here and I hope the audience like it.”

As Acharya shook a leg with Varun and Kriti, he said, “Varun yaha par (in the single screen) 100 rupees mein films dekhta tha aur mein yaha par black mein tickets bechta tha (laughs).”

Talking about the catchy thumka step, Ganesh said, “Varun and Kriti are so good, I wanted to give them best steps. I showed them the step and they loved it.”

About his association with Ganesh, Varun said, “I have grown up seeing his work.” The actor’s father, director David Dhawan has collaborated with Ganesh multiple times, especially on Govinda starrers. He added, “I have learnt dancing seeing him and Chichi bhaiyya (Govinda on sets while growing up). I am not formally trained, I have learnt it all watching steps on TV and during Ganpati visarjan.”

Reacting to Varun, Ganesh shared a sweet memory adding, “Once I was going on a film shoot and a 10-12 year old boy was dancing non stop on the bus and that was Varun.”
