‘Kantara’ Hindi gave some competition to Bollywood Diwali releases like ‘Ram Setu’ and ‘Thank God’. This Rishab Shetty entertainer has managed to rake in more moolah than ‘Ram Setu’ and ‘Thank God’ in Thane and Pune circuits. At the end of its third weekend, ‘Kantara’ Hindi has earned Rs 35.69 crore nett.

Speaking about the success of South films in the Hindi market, actor-rector Rishab had told ETimes, “This is seasonal. Every industry goes through ups and downs. Maybe audiences don’t bifurcate films as Bollywood, Sandalwood, etc anymore. People look at it as Indian cinema. Kantara is Kannada, regional, Indian cinema. The same goes for Hindi cinema. People are crossing the language barrier and watching content from all parts of India. Every film industry has made an immense contribution to Indian cinema.”
