Jacqueline Fernandez’s bail order reserved for tomorrow, ED has opposed reveals her lawyer – Times of India

Jacqueline Fernandez appeared before a special court in Delhi today in connection to the 200-crore extortion case where conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar is the main accused. After a lengthy courtroom discussion, the Delhi court has reserved Jacqueline’s bail order for tomorrow.

The actor’s lawyer Prashant Patil told ETimes, “Jacqueline Fernandez was summoned by the special court at Delhi after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a complaint against her. The Honourable Court had granted interim bail to Jacqueline on the first date of appearance. Today, the matter was kept for a final hearing of the bail application moved by Jacqueline. The ED opposed the bail application. On behalf of Jacqueline, we relied upon a landmark judgement of the Honorable Supreme Court of India, for securing of her bail. Now the matter is listed tomorrow for the order to be passed.”

Sources have said that the ED officials have expressed their concerns over granting bail to Jacqueline in this case. While the actress’ lawyers have argued that her international travel and her flight formalities are at high risk due to the fact that she only has an interim bail in the case right now.

In her past interactions with the Court and ED, Jacqueline has maintained that she wasn’t involved in Sukesh Chandrasekhar’s businesses and his alleged activities. She had also pledged to cooperate with the investigation and the authorities at all times. All eyes will be on court tomorrow to see if Jacqueline manages to secure a bail in this high-profile case.
