‘Bhediya’ records low advance booking as ‘Drishyam 2’ continues its strong run – Times of India

Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon starrer ‘Bhediya’ is already facing some stiff competition from Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Drishyam 2’. The horror comedy has witnessed a dull advance booking due to the raging success of ‘Drishyam 2’.

Ever since advance booking opened for ‘Bhediya’ last weekend, the film has seen sales of mostly 3D tickets. Present trend suggests that ‘Bhediya’ may record an advance booking lower than Varun’s last release ‘Jugjugg Jeeyo’.

Helmed by Amar Kaushik, ‘Bhediya’ features Varun in the role of a shape-shifting wolf. This horror drama will witness him getting into a man-to-bhediya transformation. Kriti Sanon essays the leading lady opposite Varun in this entertainer. Speaking about his transformational role, the actor had told ETimes, “It’s a very difficult character to play and I don’t think people realise that, but they will once they see the film. There’s an immense amount of work and effort that’s gone into making this film. I expect people to be blown away by the visual treat that they are in for. Physically, it was so tiring to play this character that I would return to my room beat at the end of the day. There is so much anguish and power needed to do certain scenes that it would exhaust me. I trained a lot for the role. For six months, I did animal flow workout and changed my diet… it was hard, but it became very enjoyable at the end of it. I wanted to crack this character and get it absolutely right because it is something so unbelievable — a man turning into a wolf — how do you convince people? So that was very tricky.
