Shah Rukh Khan speaks about the failure of ‘Zero’ and his four-year long break – Times of India

Shah Rukh Khan will be seen back on-screen after a gap of four years. His last release was ‘Zero’ in 2018. But fans can’t hold their excitement to see him in a movie – so much so – that even his cameo in ‘Brahmastra Part One: Shiva’ and ‘Rocketery’ became a huge talking point. At the moment though, he’s promoting ‘Pathaan’ which is set to release on January 25.

But in an interview with Robin Uthappa, SRK shared that he didn’t plan to take such a long break. Shah Rukh said that he just wanted to take a one year break. But the break got stretched due to the lockdown and pandemic. That in turn, gave him more time to get fit, spend time with family and his kids.

In the same interview, the actor also spoke about ‘Zero’. He said that he put in a lot of hard work into it but it didn’t work. He also felt bad about it. But then he thought he will do what people like. He’s heard enough of his heart, so now he wants to do something that people like him doing and yet something that’s different. Hence he decided to take a break for a year, post the release of ‘Zero’.

Further, SRK laughed and expressed his alternate plans if he decides to quit acting in the future. He joked, “I can open Pathaan Catering, Baazigar Bakery, and Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge Sweet Shop.”
