In one such recent group interview that saw a few popular actors from across the Industries taking part in it, started suggesting a few of their favourite films one after the other to the panel.
While Telugu actor Adivi Sesh suggested a few Bollywood films for the panel to watch, Bollywood actor Ayushman Khurrana suggested the group for watching the 1967 Dileep Kumar’s film ‘Ram Aur Shyam’. Interestingly, Anil Kapoor mentioned the original version ‘Ramudu Bheemudu’ as even great, and one should watch it to know what acting is all about.
‘Ram Aur Shyam’ is a remake of the 1964 Telugu film ‘Ramudu Bheemudu’ in which Sr.NTR played the dual roles and it was the production debut of later legendary producer D.Rama Naidu (Rana Daggubati’s grandfather) whereas the film was written by DVS Narasa Raju and directed by Tapi Chanakya, The film has its music composed by Pendyala.
The film is considered a trendsetting venture and became an inspiration for later films with a similar storyline. It was also remade in Tamil by MGR as ‘Enga Veettu Pillai’ (1965). The film was also remade in Malayalam as ‘Ajayanum Vijayanum’ in (1976) and the film was made in Kannada much later in 1995 as ‘Mojugara SogaSugara’.
