Aishwarya Rai Bachchan faces legal notice over non-payment of land tax for property in Nashik – Times of India



Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has landed in tax trouble over alleged non-payment of land tax amounting to Rs 21, 960 for 1 hectare of non-agricultural land. Accoding to a report, the actress has not paid the land tax for one assessment year for her proprty in Nashik’s Adwadi village, Sinnar taluka.

The district administration reportedly sent the actress several demand notices but the actress failed to pay the tax, following which the tehsildar of Sinnar sent her a legal notice, reports Indian Express. In the notice, Aishwarya was asked to pay the dues within 10 days and her legal advisor promised that the tax will be paid today. Aishwarya had invested in a windmill in 2009 and paid all the taxes on time. The report also confirmed that the tax issue was related to the land and is not connected to the windmill project, which has been functioning smoothly.

On the work front, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was last seen essaying dual roles of Nandakini and Mandakini Devi in ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’. Reuniting with Mani Ratnam, the actress charmed fans with her impressive act. She will reportedly reprise in the roles for the sequel ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’, which is slated to hit the screens in April 2023.
