Trade expert feels ‘Shehzada’ opening of 6-7 crores would be a ‘disaster’ – Times of India

Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Pathaan’ revived the box office and it looked like a positive trend for upcoming Bollywood releases was set. However, this Friday’s release ‘Shehzada’ seems to have some tough luck. The film recorded a low advance booking number and its day one figures are also looking meager.
“Shehzada is a disaster, the numbers are terrible. On its opening day, the film should earn something in the range of Rs 6-7 crore, which is 50% of what Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 had earned last year,” stated Komal Nahta.

‘Shehzada’ is an official Hindi remake of the 2020 Telugu hit ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’, which featured Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles. Directed by Rohit Dhawan, this film also stars Kriti Sanon, Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Rajpal Yadav, Ronit Roy and Sachin Khedekar.
Speaking about comparisons with Allu Arjun, Kartik had told ETimes, “With every film, I am being compared to something or someone. So I am okay with not reacting or not thinking about it. When I was offered the film also, I never thought of such things. Because I know that these things always happen with every film – I have seen the same pattern during Bhool Bhulaiyaa and now again during Shehzada. This is a normal question which has been asked again and again to me. But I am okay, I have done my own things and with the character. And I hope what I have done, people will like it.”
