Kajol doesn’t want ‘Dilwale Dulhani Le Jayenge’ to be remade for THIS reason – Times of India

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is considered one of the most iconic movies of all times. This Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol starrer has continued to run at Maratha Mandir, even 27 years after its release. As a part of Valentine’s day fest, DDLJ had also released and it was playing alongside SRK’s recent release ‘Pathaan’.
While it’s such an iconic film, Kajol doesn’t want it to be remade. Here’s why! In an interview with News18, the actress said that ‘DDLJ’ and even a film like ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ shouldn’t be remade because that magic can only be created once. If one recreates it, the magic just fizzles out. Kajol also feels that the fans will always be disappointed with remakes of such films because comparisons would be inevitable. Magic has a feel to it!

SRK revealed on ‘THE Romantics’ that he wasn’t keen to do ‘Dilwale Dulhani Le Jayenge’ because he didn’t want to be a lover boy. He wanted to do action. He didn’t say yes to Aditya Chopra for the longest time and then finally gave his nod to it.
On work front, Kajol was last seen in ‘Salaam Venky’. The actress will be making her OTT debut soon with ‘The Good Wife’.
