Shah Rukh Khan, who has shared screen space with Divya Bharti in films like, ‘Dil Aashna Hai’ and ‘Deewana’, once spoke about the actress’ untimely demise. Today, on the occasion of her 30th death anniversary, we got our hands on a throwback interview of King Khan where he spoke about how he got to know about her sudden demise.
In the interview, Shah Rukh revealed that he was sleeping in Delhi and they were playing his song, ‘Aisi Deewangi’. He thought he had become a big star as the film was a big hit. Suddenly these songs were playing and he woke up in the morning and saw that she had died. Divya had fallen from a window. It was one of the biggest shocks, because they were supposed to do another with her, SRK told NDTV.

SRK also further added that Divya was stunning as an actor. According to him, he was a serious kind of guy and she was this completely whacky, fun-loving girl. The superstar also recalled feeling very humbled when Divya called him an ‘institution’.
Divya made her film debut in 1990 with the Tamil feature ‘Nila Pennae’. She acted in several south films before breaking through with Vishwatma and the song Saat Samundar in 1992. The actress had a promising career ahead of her which was cut short by her death.
