Ayan Mukerji’s direction of ‘Brahmastra’ has earned him one of the biggest action franchises ‘War’. The filmmaker has been roped in to direct the sequels starring Hrithik Roshan and looks like he is being paid a hefty amount for the same.
According to a news portal, Ayan has signed a contract citing Rs 32 crore as his directorial fees. The filmmaker will begin the pre-production work this month and plans to start the shoot by Novemebr this year. ‘War 2’ will feature Hrithik Roshan in the lead and is scheduled to hit the screens by the end of 2024 or early 2025. This film will be the sixth one in YRF’s spy universe, featuring bigges like ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, ‘War’, ‘Pathaan’, and ‘Tiger 3’. Another film, ‘Tiger versus Pathaan’, starring Shah Rukh and Salman Khan is also in the works.

ETimes had recently revealed how Karan Johar wants Ayan to start ‘Brahmastra’ sequel first and then take on ‘War 2’. A source had told us, “Karan is actually disappointed with Ayan for taking up ‘War 2’ while leaving Brahmastra in the lurch. In fact Karan wants Ayan to complete Brahmastra sequels first and then take up any other project, as that is what their contract stipulates. It only makes sense as Karan has already invested 100s of crores and over eight years for the film.”
