Mahira Khan shares the story behind the ‘nose-to-nose kissing’ with Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Zaalima’, reveals she was scared to shoot romantic scenes with him – Times of India

Pakistani actor Mahira Khan made her Bollywood debut with ‘Raees’ opposite Shah Rukh Khan. While fans loved their romance in the film, the song ‘Zaalima’ is still remembered after the film released in 2017. In a recent interview, Mahira has revealed that she was scared to shoot the romantic scenes with SRK in the film. She wanted to draw some boundaries during the filming of the song ‘Zaalima’, but there was some nose-kissing in the song.
Mahira revealed in a podcast with Anupama Chopra that when they were shooting ‘Zaalima’, everyone on the set was making fun of her. That’s because Mahira was scared ke ‘kuch zyada na ho jaaye’ as Mahira didn’t want to do anything that’s objectionable. So, she would tell Shah Rukh, ‘you can’t kiss me here, you can’t do this’.

Even Shah Rukh started making fun of her and teasing her because of that. Eventually, everyone decided that they should go for ‘nose-to-nose kissing’. Mahira further laughed and said that they didn’t know what to do in the hook step of ‘Zaalima’ and it became a joke that since nothing else can happen, they should go for ‘nose-to-nose kissing’. So, in the whole song, the actors do that. SRK later joked and asked her that will that be okay for her? In her heart, Mahira said, ‘what do you know?’

‘Raees’ was directed by Rahul Dholakia. The film which also starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui also brought in good numbers at the box office.
