The verdict is out and Sooraj Pancholi can heave a sigh of relief in abetment of suicide case of Jiah Khan. Due to lack of evidence, the actor has been acquitted by the special CBI court. The verdict was announced on Friday afternood. The actor was seen in court with his mother Zarina Wahab, while later Jiah Khan’s mother Rabia was also present in court for the verdict. Jiah Khan, who was 24 years old when she passed away, was found hanging in her Juhu house on June 3, 2013 at her Juhu residence. Sooraj Pancholi was arrested by the Juhu police on June 10, 2013 on abetment of suicide charges and he was kept in custody for almost a month till Bombay High Court granted him bail on July 3. In his final statement filed before the court, Sooraj had claimed that the investigation and chargesheet were false and that the prosecution witnesses testified against him at the behest of complainant Rabia Khan, police and CBI. While Sooraj has been acquitted, Jiah Khan’s mother is not happy with the verdict and is planning to challenge the same in highest courts.
