International Dance Day: Vaani Kapoor opens up on her dancing skills, reveals the efforts she put in to ace her songs – Times of India



Actor Vaani Kapoor, who started her career playing a girl next door in Shuddh Desi Romance, opposite late Sushant Singh Rajput has, over a period of years, gone through a massive image makeover, gravitating towards more glam roles. The 34-year-old, who apart from acting, is also known for her dancing prowess, recently opened up on the same on the occasion of International Dance Day, that is being celebrated today.

“Our Indian film industry is unique because an actor is required to not only perform scenes brilliantly, but also nail the intricate song-and-dance sequences. I’m fortunate to be a part of this vibrant industry that celebrates songs and dances. To have blockbuster songs like Ghungroo, Nashe si chadh gayi or Ude dil befikre to my credit is gratifying,” Vaani told a leading publication.

She also opened up on how dance as an art form is gratifying. She said, “I feel dance is a great way of expressing yourself. It liberates me as a human being and an artiste. At the time of shooting for all these songs, I had to put in a lot of effort. For many hours, I would keep doing the same step, over and over again, to avoid any retakes.”

Vaani, who was last seen with Ranbir Kapoor in Shamshera, will now be seen in the web series Mandala Murders.
