Elaborating on the traditions they follow, Mahesh says, “We have been bringing home Ganpati Bappa for the last 70 years and we continue to follow the traditions. We welcome Ganpati Bappa home for 10 days.” Going down memory lane, he shares, “As a child, Saiee would sneakily steal sweets and the kids would fight over who gets the jhanjs (manjiras). Their chatter would liven up the house.”
Talking about the festivities, Saiee says, “This year, the theme is around all things white. We have used a lot of white flowers against a white background. We ensure that the material used to make the decoration is as eco-friendly as possible. I helped with ideation and decoration, and everyone from the family chipped and did their bit. During visarjan, we do feel sad to see Bappa go, but we also do a lot of masti and have a great time during it.”
