Ashoke Pandit on Vishal’s allegation of corruption in censor board: If found guilty those officers should be arrested and this wrong trend of extortion should come to an end – Exclusive | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

While most people from the film industry preferred to not react to the allegations of corruption in the Censor Board levied by actor Vishal, Ashoke Pandit, President of IFTDA and former member has demanded a CBI enquiry in actor the case.
Speaking about the allegations made by the actor of paying up Rs 6.5 lakh to CBFC member, Pandit said, “We at IFTDA, are demanding a CBI enquiry against the allegations made by actor Vishal where he says that 6.5 lakh rupees have been transferred on two names and he has shared the account numbers also.”
Pandit also revealed that the alleged names mentioned by Vishal are not board members. He said, “I have come to know that these two people are not CBFC officials. So, till the time an enquiry is not initiated and reality doesn’t come out, it’s not proper to accuse the CBFC of corruption. Only after people involved in this, what is the trail, what are the connections, who are the people who have extorted money, where has the money gone, till the time these two people are not picked up who have taken the money and details are not found out from them, till that time things are not easy. “
Pandit who has always been vocal on industry issues added, “As soon as an enquiry is initiated and things come out, those officers if found guilty should be punished. In fact, they should be arrested and this wrong trend of extortion has to come to an end. 3 lakhs for screening a film and 3.5 lakhs for issuing a UA certificate to the film, that’s what Vishal has accused. The system has to be right and as soon as an action is taken against it, it will be good for the industry also. The morale of the industry should not be down because small time producers who are regional producers and low budget film producers, it’s really a problem for them when such issues come up where they have to fall prey to such extortions.”
Meanwhile, both the CEO and Chairperson of CBFC have yet to react to the allegations made by Vishal.
