Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo – Bloody Sweet is all set to beat Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and Pathaan for Day One opening | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

It seems fans of Thalapathy Vijay can’t wait any longer for his upcoming film ‘Leo: Bloody Sweet’, which will see him collaborating with director Lokesh Kanagaraj once again after their 2021 hit ‘Master’. The advance booking of the film is yet to open in India, the film is set to release on October 19, but in United Kingdom, which became the first territory to open advance bookings for Leo, the movie has smashed all possible records.Vijay’s next release is still 17 days away and yet for its opening day, it has already collected 2,73,170 pounds and has already become the third highest opening day for an Indian film in the UK. It has beaten films like Sultan, Chennai Express and Race 3 to reach this position.
The two films ahead of it right now are Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and Pathaan with 3,07,000 pounds and 3,19,000 pounds day one opening numbers respectively. Trade experts are extremely confident than in the next 17 days, Vijay’s film will cover the gap to record the highest ever opening for an Indian film in the UK.
The situation is equally exciting in the United States of America. There is a very high demand for the film, it has already sold about 14,688 tickets for its premiere across 300 locations and has already minted $336,531. With 17 more days to go for the release the numbers could swell even more. The makers of the film had to recently cancel the audio launch event as many scamsters had made fake invitation passes and were selling them at high prices.
The film stars Thalapathy Vijay, Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Gautam Vasudev Menon and Anurag Kashyap and it is carrying a lot of buzz and excitement for multiple reasons. One being, it brings back the pair of Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj after the success of ‘Master’.
It is also a part of Lokesh’s Cinematic Universe which will one day bring together projects like Karthi’s Kaithi and Kamal Haasan’s Vikram.
