Vidhu Vinod Chopra arranges a special screening of 12th Fail for close friend Kamal Haasan – Exclusive | Hindi Movie News – Times of India



Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra who is known for his films like Parinda, 1942 A Love Story, Mission Kashmir etc is back in the director’s chair after a gap of three years. He last directed Shikara which was based on the life of Kashmiri pandits who were affected by the insurgency. The talented director has now returned to the big screen to adapt Anurag Pathak’s book Twelfth Fail.The film starsVikrant Massey in the lead role. The film is all set to release on October 27th.
ETimes has learnt that a special screening was organised by Vidhu Vinod Chopra for none other than Kamal Haasan. Chopra and Haasan have been friends for many decades and this can be seen from the fact that the superstar attended celebrations of 45 years Vidhu Vinod Chopra film festival held on 13th October in Mumbai.
Twelfth Fail is based on Anurag Pathak’s best-selling novel about the incredible journey of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS officer Shraddha Joshi. Twelfth Fail has been described as a glimpse into the journey of students who prepare for the prestigious UPSC exams.
Chopra said his film stands as a tribute to the honest officers who safeguard the Constitution of India and the countless students who aspire to follow in their footsteps. “If this film inspires even some individuals to strive for honesty and excellence, I would consider it a success,” the director added.
