Vijay’s Leo public review

Leo scored Rs 64.8 crore in India across languages on its opening day.Post that, the film witnessed a major drop of 45% and collected Rs 35.25 crore on day 2. On day 3, it saw a small jump of 12% and collected Rs 39.8 crore, and on its first Sunday, the film was expected to do much better than its last two days, but remained particularly flat and minted just Rs 41.55 crore. It further dropped to Rs 35.7 on Monday and Rs 32.7 on Tuesday, and as per early estimates on Wednesday, it made Rs 12.5 crore as per Sacnilk, taking the grand total of the film to Rs 262.30 crore.
The film has had a fractured release in Hindi, as it only got released in single screens and non-national multiplexes. Over the last 7 days, the film has managed to collect Rs 16 crore in Hindi, which is huge, given how small the release was in Hindi. And the future for the film looks good, as none of the Hindi films releasing this week and the next week is expected to take a bumper opening at the box office.
Leo is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and is part of his cinematic universe which has characters like Vikram and Rolex (Vikram) and Dilli (Kaithi) in it. Lokesh is planning to take the franchise ahead in the next two years.
