In an interview with Hindustan Times, Madhavan jokingly said that he is not sure if he is happy about his son Vedaant Madhavan becoming more popular than him.The actor also added that he can’t even compete with him because he is from a different field.
In an earlier interview with the same publication, Madhavan had said that he is very happy with Vedaant’s success, but he’s getting a lot more attention than he actually deserves. According to him, he has just won a few competitions internationally. There are better students than him in his age group in India and they need to be celebrated as well.

Elaborating further, the actor added that both his son and he knows that he gets this sort of attention because he is his son. Madhavan added that Vedaant is putting his head down, working and training hard, focusing on his meals and they are doing their best to make sure they support him.
In an interview with DD India in 2022, Vedaant had spoken about how supportive both his parents have been. Vedaant had said that his father is in a different country but he is staying up late to watch every race. According to him, it is amazing how even though they are not here physically, they’re always looking after him. He added that both his parents put so much effort to see him swim.
On the work front, R Madhavan will next be seen in ‘The Railway Men‘ which also stars Kay Kay Menon, Babil Khan and Divyenndu.
