Filmmaker Suneel Darshan and Karisma Kapoor have worked together on several projects. Recently, in an interview, he said that the actress took it for granted that she’d be at the top of his list when he was casting for films. She also thought that she’d star in ‘Andaaz’, which eventually went to Priyanka Chopra. But, Suneel revealed she was gracious enough to help promote the film and didn’t hold any grudges.
Speaking to Zoom Entertainment, Suneel Darshan said that Karisma didn’t need to call him ever, she took things for granted.His relationship with the Kapoors was so unique. Once, at a party, he heard someone call out, ‘Our provider is here’, and he turned around and saw that it wasRishi Kapoor. He had a deep relationship with both Karisma and Kareena because he admired their mother. And he respected the bravery with which she brought both her girls up as it was commendable.
In the same interview, Suneel also revealed that Rani Mukerji wanted the role as well. But he eventually cast Priyanka Chopra, on the condition that she fixes her nose. The filmmaker said that she asked for a month and turned up for work in time. Earlier, Priyanka maintained that she underwent a nose surgery not for cosmetic reasons, but to fix a medical problem.
