December is the time for the Christmas cheer and the holiday mood as its the end of the year. To go by this vibe, Eddie Murphy‘s new movie, ‘Candy Cane Lane‘ has released on OTT on December 1. The film stars Murphy as Chris Carver who is a husband and a father. The film is the perfect watch during the month of Christmas as it sees Murphy as a character who is obsessed with the Christmas season.
So much so, that it drives him to extremes to win the Christmas decoration competition in his neighbourhood.He also gets into a deal with an elf called Pepper, played by Jillian Bell. However, Pepper is a trickster who creates havoc in town. But Carver’s wife played byTracee Ellis Ross and kids have to plan a way to put a stop the the elf’s plans and save Christmas before its too late.
Talking about this film, Murphy had said, “When I was growing up, we used to watch ‘It’s a Wonderful Life,’ and ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ and ‘Rudolph’s Shiny New Year’… I think we made a movie like that, that people will watch over and over again.”
The film is meant to be a Christmas Comedy and has got some mixed reviews. It also stars Thaddeus J. Mixson, Nick Offerman, Robin Thede, Chris Marino, Lombardo Boyar, Danielle Pinnock, Iman Benson, Madison Thomas, Genneya Walton, David Alan Grier and Chris Redd.
